The Raising of America Series is a five-part documentary series that explores the questions: Why are so many children in America faring so poorly? What are the consequences for the nation’s future? National Black Child Development Institute

The National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) is at the forefront of engaging leaders, policymakers, professionals and parents around critical and timely issues that directly impact black children and their families. BCDI-Denver, the local affiliate, is a group of early childhood experts, parents and professionals who have come together to create a trusted organization that will, with support from the national office, implement programs and provide resources addressing early learning, health and wellness, family engagement and literacy. BCDI's work will engage in advocacy that focuses on achieving positive outcomes for black children and families.

Colorado Crisis Services is also a resource for case managers and all professionals connected with the child welfare system, Division of Youth Corrections, domestic violence victim services providers, and anyone working with at-risk families. Mental health is one of the most common reasons why a child or youth involved with the child welfare system is in congregate care.
